Welcome to 3rd grade! Third grade is an exciting time as children come upon new adventures in  learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as gaining new skills. I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning. I realize teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help. We need to be partners in the learning process.

You can help your child have a successful year by:

• Letting me know if there are any special concerns or needs regarding your child.

• Making sure your student is well rested and nourished when he or she arrives at school.

• Talking about school in a positive manner. Be interested in what your child is doing.

• Helping your child set up a successful reading routine, aiming for 30 minutes a night. Reading may be independent or with your support.
